John Coleman Says Global Warming Is A Scam

I agree with John Coleman's assessment of this global warming scam. I am begging someone,anyone, who has any sort of credentials, like Mr. Coleman, to come to the forefront and counter what is going on. These wacko environmentalists are able to convince people because they are the ones making all the noise. They are drawing attention and the hollywood folks, who are trading on their good looks and popularity, are grabbing onto the environmentalist's coattails and garnering attention through this bogus belief. I do believe the hollywood types are deceived and their intentions are good, but misinformed. I place the blame on the greedy scientists and the self-proclaimed environmentalists.

Please, someone who has any notoriety and following, please get involved and take up the cause before these politically motivated morons do us a great deal of harm. Thank you.

Tom's comment is typical of someone who will not even look at the facts themselves, but will follow "his crowd" faithfully. Slinging mud and calling groups and people names is what they do best. Too bad. I would love to see a debate between Al Gore and John. I think one debate would show whose "whaco" and who isn't. It seems to me that Tom Werman is also indulging in name-calling since most Americans would consider "neocon" as a pejorative term. He also charges Coleman with summarily dismissing scientific DATA (sic) even though the widely respected Coleman states he has studied the matter thoroughly. While the excerpt from Coleman's statement published on this web site does not list them, he gave an extensive list of reputable references supporting his position with his original post on the KUSI-TV web site. I am not a professional scientist, but I studied ecology in college in the early seventies (when many of today's global warming alarmists were warning of an impending man-made ice age,) and I have maintained an active interest as a responsible environmentalist all these years. Anyone who does any significant research into the earth's climate in the past (paleoclimatolgy,) will find abundant evidence from the sciences of archeology, paleontology, paleobotany and geology to show our planet and humans have experienced many periods of rapid climate change, both drastic warming and cooling, long before the human population was large enough to have any possible impact. One major volcanic eruption, such as Krakatoa in the 1800's, can lower average temperatures around the world by considerably more than the amount most experts agree on for the increase of the past 100 years. My advice to Mr. Werman, and anyone who wants to be an independent thinker, is to look at both sides of the ongoing scientific discussion before blindly following "whackos" from either side.

He made no attempt to present any information to refute the points made by Mr. Coleman. I am a retired aerospace engineer and have dealt with environmental issues over the years. Mr Coleman is right. Much of the so called "compelling scientific DATA" has been shown to be badly faulted - - for instance the "hockey stick" temperature rise was based on faulty statistical proceedures and disagrees with actual data. These profound errors with the so called "compelling scientific DATA" are well documented. The problems with GCM results are also well documented along with the admission that the input into these models has been fudged to get the desired result. The global warming believers cannot explain why Mars, which has a higher partial pressure for CO2 than earth, by a factor of 25, is so cold. Most scientists believe that most of the carbon from fossil fuels came from plants and animals which can only get significant levels of carbon from atmospheric CO2. So most of the CO2 we produce today was, at one time, in the atmosphere. The earth must have had good climatic conditions to have produced such an abundance of fossil carbon. Why was CO2 good then and bad now? This is just an example of how little scientific enquiry really goes into the claims of global warming believers.

I love how this old dude who "created" the weather channel has the balls to make such claims without offering ANY evidience to the contrary. This kind of broad claim lacking evidence only flys with the NEOTARDS who hate "evidence", any intelligent person (not talking about you Democlones) can see this is one mans halfbaked opinion, lacking anything that could possibly change ones mind. In my opinion, this man had more interest in TV than weather, and probably is lacking any REAL scientific credibility. But hey how much fun would the world be without misinformation?

19,000 scientists (real scientists), signed a petition against the BS, bogus science that attributes climate change strictly to human activity. There have been climate fluctuations throughout history and this one has about as much to do with human activity as the ice age. The 19,000 scientists have been totally ignored by the liberal media. But of course, all 19,000 must be idiots.

People are definately opinionated when it comes to this topic aren't they? As a geologist, I know that the earth's climate has changed dramatically since the dawn of time. The dinosaurs lived in on the earth when it was mostly tropical only to be followed by the mammoths and wooly rhinos of the ice age. Where were the SUV's then? Later in the history of earth, there was a "mini" ice age in the dark ages that was followed by a warming period of serval years. It was so warm in fact, that the English were able to grow grapes and threaten the French wine industry, this of course took place roughly arond the renissance. What caused this dramatic climate change? Was it the massive population and industry that existed durring the middle ages? Oh yeah, big industry handn't happened yet and the US was barely being populated. Hmmmmmm. Let's look back to a more recent time now, like say 100 years ago. It seems that the people who promote global warming like to pointo out the diffence in temperature from then to now. Unfortunatly however, the data from 100 years ago isn't complete enough to accurately compare to today. Scientists back then kept track of the temperature where they lived and most of them lived in big cities near the universiities and what not. Not many scientists lived in what was then the middle of nowhere to keep records. Lets jump to today shall we? Glaciers are melting. Do you know how many glaciers there are in the world? The number is in the hundreds of millions. How many of these are actually being kept track of? Maybe 10-20. Of those they are watching, some are getting smaller, others are growing. What's this? A balance? NO! Al Gore says we're all going to dround though! He's a politician so he must be right.
I am glad that some one in the scientific community had the guts to actually stand up agains the craze. The liberals complain about conservatives and them being buddies with big oil companies. What about all your precious scientists that are jumping on Al Gore's band wagon, they are getting tons of money in grants and "research" funds from various other big businesses? Personally, I would just like to see some real, un-biased research being done to find out what's really going on, if anything. Research done by people who don't have an agenda and who aren't being "sponsored" by anyone. Our country is divided. Not only on this, but just about everything. We fight about everything from the war, to religion, to politics. Its always one group verses another and where does it get us? What good does it do? Why all the name calling? It doesn't matter if its considered "grade-school level" or college level, its still name calling and its all juvenile and serves no purpose. Maybe someday people will stop being fanatics and actually think logicaly instead of emotionally. One can only hope.

John Coleman, thank you SO much for saying this. You must know what a relif it is to be a sceptic and see someone else speak out. I have tried speaking out, and I welcome the protest - it's all just more signs of public stupidity and how brainwashed everyone is. They'll argue against your motives, but they can't debate the science. Because we're right. And, as it ironically turns out to be, they're totally and utterly wrong.

A debate between Al Gore and John Coleman could be the "Inherit The Wind" of our time, but as Sugar Ray Leonard said to Marvin Hagler, "unfortunately it ain't never gonna happen." Can anyone sympathetic to Gore, please explain why the "great debater", inventor of the internet, and author of the Love Canal, will not enter into a debate with an educated and informed senior in high school much less a weather scientist? I venture to guess that he is afraid that he will find out that there might not me a Legal Controlling Authority over taking campaign (ahem) "contributions" from Buddahist Monks, but there is definitely a Legal Controlling Maker/Authority over the weather. Somebody ask Gore if he knows where God stores the wind and rain when he is not using it?

Both Clinton and Obama are claiming to fix the present downturn in the U.S. economy by creating millions of manufacturing jobs by building wind power and solar powered electric generating equipment. They want to stop current and new generation of electricty from coal fired power plants. Coal fired generation represents 52% of total generation in the U.S. Wind power and solar power will never come close to replacing the generation from coal fired plants. The cost of replacing coal with wind and solar will increase the cost of electricty at least two fold in a short period of time.If they are successful, a large portion of the coal mined each year will be exported to places like China and Russia. Coal price will inflate in the U.S. as a result of this. Cost of generating electricty will increase. Both countries have little or no reason to limit the amount of CO2 or any other emmission from their coal fired power plants.Guess where a lot of the SO2, NOX, Mercury and CO2 will end up from China and Russia? If Mr. Coleman is correct we just destroyed the economy of the U.S. for no reason and put us at high risk of being more dependent on the countries that want to see us fail as a democracy. Can we afford to bet that Mr. Coleman is wrong?

In a recent news report we've just learned that China will be forced to shut down many of their coal fied power plants, industrial plants and curtail about one million automobiles in order to lower their pollution levels in order to host the Olympics. Reports include runners wearing masks and some dropping out due to these intolerable air quality conditions. While the so called "Environmentalists" in this country continue to use the courts to delay and/or defeat legitimate projects that meet or exceed all CAA rules and regs and all state pollution laws. Coal fired power plants in countries like China, India and others are permitted to be built uncontrolled. These so called "environmentalists" are doing what the terrorists are not capable of, destroying the U.S. project by project. Will the U.S. government wake up before its to late or do we wait until we have severe black outs across the U.S. and are left vunerable?

John Coleman has put together a long but thorough document on his beliefs about GW. He manages to counter many arguments and "facts" put forward as the gospel truth by GW doom-mongers. Sure, we must cut back on pollution and energy waste and recycle more, but let's do so knowing the truth and not by following the political climate which has already seen "green" tax rises in the UK under the guise of protecting the environment. It all comes down to money at the end of the day and dreaming up news ways to make or collect more of it.

Mr. Werman's reply is hilarious!!! Misspelling??? Priceless!! These were SPOKEN WORDS!! Do you think he taped, or memorized his speech and typed it in himself? And the "convincing and compelling" data in which you speak is a number of about 2,500 "scientists'" swayed opinion ($$ ??). This is compared to about 31,000 scientists who think humans have nothing to do with this. These 31,000 also believe that this is a part of natural climate cycles, and humans have nothing to do with it. These scientists are rarely allowed on air (due to the liberal media) to voice their opinions. So, they have to write their ideas in periodicals or books. Hmmmm, I wonder why the uneducated people I know believe this sham, and the dozens of scientists and engineers that I worked with as an Environmental Engineer don't.
