A world of mystery, humour, horror and spectacle awaits in this explosive tale at the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe. The performance will take place on Saturday 10 November, at 7.30pm.
Marvel at the exquisite heartache, the torturous hilarity and breathtaking magic as Madame Lucinda's Wonder Show follows the unusual stories of its three acts; Sirus (The Man Who Knows), Svetlana (The Living Doll) and Lo-Lo (The Clown). The show is based on poems and text by Annamaria Murphy and beautifully blends the innocent with the macabre, optimism with the inescapable and the real with the fantastical.
Annamaria is an actor/writer/storyteller from Mousehole in Cornwall, and as a member of the Kneehigh Theatre has worked on projects with The National Theatre, BBC Radio 4 and The Eden Project. From its home in Cornwall, Kneehigh has built a reputation for creating vigorous and popular theatre for audiences throughout the UK and beyond and Annamaria's solo project is no exception.
Madame Lucinda's Wonder Show stylistically borrows from the 1920s Side Show and finds itself somewhere between the worlds of 'Tim Burton' and 'The Wizard of Oz'... with live music, splendid illusion, side splitting comedy, dance, explosive physical theatre and compelling stories. Madame Lucinda's Wonder Show is designed and is suitable for adults and young people of 10 years and over. -- www.northdevontheatres.org.uk
