The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Dickinson Wright Family Series presents Sing-Along with Santa on December 1, 2007 in the Bethlehem United Church of Christ at 4 pm. The concert features the Head Elf himself. Joining Santa Claus in this afternoon of holiday fun are Andrew Pelletier, principal French horn of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, and local radio personality Lucy Ann Lance.
Continuing a season of community partnerships, patrons will also be able to enjoy the holiday music-making by Ann Arbor Community High Jazz Band.
“We’ve a special relationship with Santa. Each year he sleds from the North Pole to meet with the children of Ann Arbor at our Sing-Along. He loves to see the youngsters and sing with them in all his favorite carols. And, of course, he loves the homemade cookies and cider,” Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Mary Steffek Blaske shared with us.
Santa (Former Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Staff Member Charley Sullivan) is joined for this festival of holiday songs, storytelling, and an interactive Twelve Days of Christmas by Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra principal French Horn player Andrew Pelletier, pianist Lori Zupan and emcee Lucy Ann Lance. Santa’s photographers will be on hand to capture photographs of the children which will be sent to the youngster’s family in time for Christmas.
Following the concert, families are invited to share in the holiday cheer with cookies and apple cider and to meet Santa in person. Children will be able to get their holiday requests in to Santa at this time. Along with the rest of the world, Santa has entered the 21st century and keeps track of his information on a palm pilot. Much more convenient than the lists of paper that he used to keep on children!
"Sing-Along with Santa" begins at 4 pm on Saturday, December 1st in the Bethlehem United Church of Christ in downtown Ann Arbor. Admission to the performance is only $12 for adults and $5 for children. $30 tickets for families of up to six and $50 preferred seating patron tickets are also available. Names of patron tickets buyers appear in the Sing-Along programs. -- www.a2so.com
