AT&T Inc. announced an expanded retail presence in Lee County with a new wireless store in Auburn. The store, which is more than 3,000 square feet, is located at 1710 Opelika Road. It represents the company's new design concept and is the company's second in Alabama that showcases the new layout.

The store is nearly three times larger than its previous location and has a larger sales floor with eight customer stations to handle a greater volume of traffic and stations with additional live devices for hands-on demonstrations.

"We are focused on making our customers' in-store experience as pleasant as possible, and that begins with a convenient store location, layout and knowledgeable staff," said Ron Sleeper, director of sales for AT&T's North and Central Alabama wireless operations. "With this new store layout, we hope that customers will be able to find the devices and plans that meet their individual needs — in a great atmosphere."

Customers will find a welcoming layout in a traditional Southern style that features a spacious floor plan, 12 wall displays — with up to 45 live phones for on-site demos — and easy access to parking. For the convenience of our customers, the store will also have an automatic bill-payment station.

AT&T's wireless unit offers simple, competitively priced plans and a next-generation network that provides the latest technology, including phones with greater functionality, a wide range of useful features, superior sound quality and high speed data connectivity.

The new wireless store is staffed by eight employees and managed by Debbie Hicks, a native of the Auburn community. -AT&T
