According to several accounts Calvert appeared healthy on Friday night while spending time with friends before going to sleep for the night. Those same reports indicated that Calvert passed away at some point while sleeping.
Casey Calvert’s sound played a big role in Hawthorne Heights and its highly successful second album If Only You Were Lonely which debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts and produced the hit single “Saying Sorry.”
Hawthorne Heights had a show in Detroit, Michigan on Friday night and was scheduled for a show on Saturday in Washington D.C.
The official site of Hawthorne Heights posted a message on their front page stating:
“Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.” - Source: TransWorld News

this is horrible. I'm not even that big of a fan of HH, but as soon as I found out about Casey's death my heart literally stopped. I can't imagine the tragedy that Hawthorne Heights is going through and my thoughts are with them, their friends, and their family.

I was never a big fan. In fact I've never heard this band before until a couple of weeks ago. But it pains my heart to see a passionate musician just pass away with probably a handfull of other things he wishes to accomplish. From reactions to everybody, Casey must've been a very incredible person. But however he passed away, I know he would be in a happier place. Even though he always did have a happy time making everyone else in the world happy.
In the words of TAI, "Death is going to catch up to all one day, just that yours is coming quicker than ours"
but don't be extremely dissapointed. because Casey wouldn't like his fans to be depressed. he probably wants you to remember him by the mark he left on earth. and just be glad there was someone in your life to make a change.
I hope his family and the band would be able to move on with the happiness from Casey.

Not only am I a HUGE Hawthorne Heights fan, but I was also supposed to go to their last show, as a whole band that is. I was sooo devastated that I didnt get to go to the one in Detriot on the 24th, and so my friends and I just spent the weekend smoking pot... I saw them 6 times in concert, and every time I seen HH, I would always make way until I had a PERFECT view of Casey. He was my favorite. I feel guilt about not saving money and not going to that show.
Rest in Happiness Casey Calvert.

and they were absoultly amazing in concert. they have and amzing sound, and hopefully even with the lose of casey they will stay together and play in the honor of casey; were all really shocked by the lose, stay strong.

And i know that it may not sound as comforting to grieve for a lost one from a total stranger as it would opposed to family, but casey was an amazing artist. He will be sorely missed and i hope everything turns out ok for everyone else. And for all those haters out there, skrew you. how would you feel if one of your favorite bands' members died? Think about that. Don't worry HH, your fans got your back. Remember, you wouldn't be as big as you are today without your loving fans. That comment was not supposed to be offensive but so you acknoledge the meaning that your fans miss casey too and that you're not going through this alone. No one can ever replace CASEY.
