If you are overweight or obese there is in fact no need to use weight loss products at all. If you reduce your intake of salt/sodium and salty food you will lose weight easily, safely and fast. If you also eat plenty of fruit and unsalted vegetables you will lose weight even faster. But you need to stop dieting, because dieting tends to deny your body of sufficient quantities of essential nutrients.
Excess weight starts with fluid retention, aka salt sensitivity/sodium retention. Only people who are sensitive to salt become overweight. This salt sensitivity can have a number of causes, including eating too much salt as a child, pregnancy, PMS, and suffering side-effects from taking drugs prescribed by your doctor, e.g. certain steroids, antidepressants or antipsychotics. Whatever the cause of the salt sensitivity, the way to reduce the excess weight is the same: avoiding salt and salty food. This enables the body to shed some of the sodium it is retaining and to shed the water associated with the sodium. As well as reducing weight, this lowers high blood pressure and reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, stroke, cholesterol problems, most cancers, heart disease, heart attack and many other health problems.
Once you have the fluid retention problem, fat retention often follows. This is not caused by eating too much fat; it is caused by the body retaining excess fat rather than excreting it. So you do not need to speed up fat metabolism or do exercises to 'burn off' fat. Just as a healthy body excretes excess salt and water in the urine, it also excretes excess fat in the faeces. Overweight people usually become short of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and other nutrients because excess sodium depletes the body of these nutrients, and calcium deficiency and the other deficiencies stop the body from excreting the excess fat. So for fat people to achieve even faster, surer, healthier weight loss, they need to concentrate on optimising nutrition. Extra calcium, magnesium and vitamin D will reduce their fat retention problem; they will excrete more fat in their faeces. But the most important first step is to eat less salt.
Forget about dieting and going hungry. It is neither necessary nor desirable. Lose weight the natural way by eating less salt. Go on! Try it! You will feel so much better.
