Portland Orchestra Sends Out “Magic Express”

In addition to playing Magic of Christmas December 14-23 in Merrill Auditorium, Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) musicians are spreading the “Magic of Christmas” cheer with performances at hospitals, service organizations and community centers throughout the region. All the musicians are donating their time and talents to bring Magic to as wide an audience as possible.

Friday, December 7: Mercy Hospital, Portland

Woodwind ensemble organized by Stefani Burk (oboe; Strafford, NH)

Thursday, December 13: Victoria Mansion

String trio organized by Debbie Dabczynski (cello; Harrison, ME)

Friday, December 14: Mercy Hospital, Portland

String ensemble organized by Laurie Kennedy (PSO principal viola; Carthage, ME)

Saturday, December 15: Goodall Hospital, Springvale

Woodwind ensemble headed by Julie Verrett (english horn; Milford, MA)

Sunday, December 16: Maine Mall, South Portland

String trio with Yasmin Craig Vitalius (violin; Yarmouth, ME) and Richard and Clarinda Noyes (cello and violin; Portland, ME)

Friday, December 21: Rotary Club, Portland

Brass quintet organized by John Schnell (trumpet; South Portland, ME) and John Boden (french horn; Liberty, ME) -- www.portlandsymphony.com
