Kentucky to Play Florida in 10th Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl

University of Kentucky to play Florida State University in the 10th annual Gaylord Hotels Music City Bow. Less than 500 tickets remain as Music City Bowl aims for second straight sellout.

Representatives of the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl announced today the University of Kentucky will represent the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in the tenth annual Bowl and face off against the Atlantic Coast Conference's (ACC) Florida State University. Kick-off will be Monday, December 31, 2007 at 3p.m. CST at LP Field in Nashville. The game will be televised live on ESPN.

Less than 500 tickets remain for game day. Ticket prices for the Bowl begin at $15 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 615-255-9600 or by visiting MusicCityBowl.com.

"We are proud to welcome Kentucky and Florida State to Nashville for this year's tenth annual Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl," said Mayor Karl Dean. "We look forward to the thousands of visitors traveling to our great city to experience all that Music City has to offer. The Bowl is a great opportunity to showcase Nashville to our friends from Kentucky, Florida State and the rest of the nation."

Aubrey Harwell, Bowl Chairman, looks forward to this exciting match-up. "Tens of thousands of fans from across the Southeast will again visit Nashville on New Year's weekend," said Harwell. "There is a lot of excitement surrounding this year's tenth anniversary game with Kentucky and Florida State competing. It will be a busy time for local hotels, businesses and entertainment attractions, as well as a great showcase for our city on ESPN's national television broadcast.”

Quarterback Andre Woodson is bringing his Kentucky Wildcats back to Nashville. Woodson topped the SEC in passing offense as the highest-ranked passer in the SEC at 279 yards per game and 36 touchdowns this year. The Wildcats are making their third Bowl appearance in Nashville. They also played in the 1999 Bowl vs. Syracuse and in the 2006 game vs. Clemson.

Our experience in bringing 50,000 people to Nashville for the 2006 game brings back great memories and this year is a new opportunity for our fans to enjoy Kentucky football in the post-season,” remarked Mitch Barnhart, University of Kentucky director of athletics. “The city and staff treated us in first-class fashion and we’re privileged to be their guests. As an institution, we’ll do all we can to put on a good show. I also congratulate Coach Rich Brooks, our seniors, and all of the Wildcats as we try for our first back-to-back bowl wins in over half a century.”

Florida State is led by legendary coach Bobby Bowden, a 2006 College Football Hall of Fame inductee and the winningest coach in the history of college football with 373 wins. This will be Bowden’s 26th consecutive season leading FSU to a bowl game.
