Kansai Mining Corporation (TSX Venture Exchange: KAN) is pleased to announce that the new Migori diamond drilling program has proceeded well through November 2007.
To date 6 angled holes, comprising 860 metres of drilling have been completed, namely MD 26-31 inclusive. The drill holes MD 26, MD 27 and MD 28 test the Gori Maria mineralised zone. Several zones of mineralization were observed in each of these holes. Visible gold was seen at 138 metre depth in MD 28.
MD 29, 30 and 31 tested the Macalder Gossan zone, hitherto merely scout-drilled.
MD 32 is in progress currently. Zones of mineralization occur in each hole, but MD 29 and MD 31 were terminated in old stopes at 115 metres and 49 metres respectively where they intersected the massive sulphide ore body mined between 1937 and 1962.
On completion of MD 32 the rig will move to the Nyanza mineralised zone for a 4 hole program.
Core splitting and sampling is underway. Early sample batches will be transported to the assayers within the next few days and preliminary results can be expected within two weeks.
The Company's technical report filed on SEDAR in 2006 established 4 main zones of gold mineralization containing, as presently explored, 33 million tonnes 1.10 g/t Au for 1.172 million ounces as indicated resources from the drilling of more than 50,000 metres in about 600 angled drilled holes. -- www.cnxmarketlink.com
