Hot models in skimpy thongs? Check out the Victoria's Secret runway show tonight, writes Samantha Chang.

When Victoria’s Secret aired its fashion show for the first time as a Webcast over the Internet, the onslaught of viewers crashed their servers for hours. Sure enough, it didn’t take long for some network brainiac to figure out that the show might make good television.

These days, of course, good television means anything that attracts the crucial 18 to 34-year-old demographic desperately sought by advertisers. Nothing sells like sex, especially among drooling adolescents, frat boys and immature 30-somethings. So, why not have gorgeous young girls parade around practically naked and call it a fashion show! Genius!

The one hour flesh fest airs at 10PM (Eastern time) tonight on CBS. Lest you think the Tiffany Network no longer has any sense of standards, the producers have tried to dress up the show with musical acts by the Black-Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, Seal and the Spice Girls. "This is really an event that's anchored in a fashion show," said CBS executive Jack Sussman. But isn't it essentially an hour long commercial? "To a degree," he acknowledged to reporters.

The show is sure to be an extravaganza and viewers won’t miss an angle. More than two dozen of the world's most beautiful women will show off 61 of the world’s skimpiest outfits and the action will be captured by sixteen cameras throughout the theater. "A normal fashion show has two," said executive producer Ed Razek. "We have almost as many as the Super Bowl." See? Who says CBS doesn’t produce quality programming?
