Honda Feb China sales up 16% to 31,587 cars

Honda's cars sales in the first two months stood at 69,609 vehicles, up 16.5% from 59,737 vehicles a year earlier.

Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., a tie-up with Dongfeng Motor Corp., sold 13,056 vehicles in February, up 27.4% from 10,247 a year earlier. The rise was driven by a 49.8% jump in sales of the CR-Vs to 6,836 units in February.

Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., a joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., sold 18,531 units in February, up 9.2% from a year earlier, with sales of the Odyssey down 14.9% and Fit down 21.9%.

China's passenger car sales in February grew 33% year-on-year to 607,984 units, boosted by government's incentives including lower purchase tax for small cars.
