Andy Williams Christmas Show Comes To McCallum Theatre

Easily the most solid and long-lasting vocalist of his era, Andy Williams' laidback delivery and smooth vocals continue to charm audiences and earn raves around the globe. Andy will ring in the holidays with his timeless take on the many classics of the season in two performances at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert on Friday, December 14, and Sunday, December 16.

At the age of 8, Andy formed a quartet with his three brothers - Bob, Dick and Don. The quartet performed on radio throughout the Midwest and appeared on Bing Crosby's 1949 hit "Swinging on a Star." His career received a major boost when he was offered regular singing duties on Steve Allen's "Tonight" show in 1953. In 1956, he had his first Top 10 hit with "Canadian Sunset."

Other hits followed, including "Butterfly," "Lonely Street," "The Village of St. Bernadette" and "Are You Sincere." "The Hawaiian Wedding Song" earned him five Grammy Award nominations and his string of hits continued with "Can't Get Used to Losing You," "Moon River," and "Days of Wine and Roses."

Andy found his greatest success on television with The Andy Williams Show which went on the air in 1962. He was a natural performer and his warm personality made the show a phenomenal ratings winner and earned three Emmy Awards. Andy opened at Caesar's Palace in 1966, headlining there for 20 years.
