Kanye, Winehouse Top 2008 Grammy Nominations

As predicted, superstar Kanye West led the 2008 Grammy nominations, with eight, while singer Amy Winehouse got six noms, writes Samantha Chang of TheImproper.com

Other top nominees include Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, Timbaland, the Foo Fighters and Rihannna. The 2008 Grammy Awards will air live on Feb, 10 in Los Angeles.

West and Winehouse--who've both weathered difficult personal issues this year--were nominated for album of the year for their CDs, "Graduation" and "Back to Black" respectively. Winehouse was also received a nom for best new artist and song of the year for her smash hit "Rehab."

Beyonce's "Irreplaceable," the Foo Fighter's "The Pretender," Rihanna's "Umbrella" and "What Goes Around Comes Around" by Justin Timberlake are also contenders for the 2008 record of the year Grammy.

Veteran rocker Bruce Springsteen earned four nominations, was nominated for best solo rock vocal and best rock album, among other awards.
