Norton Simon Museum Celebrates 118th Tournament Of Roses

Posted January 3rd, 2007 by ruzik_tuzik

The Norton Simon Museum will install a colorful 15' x 12' rose placard-comprised of 5,000 Ecuadorian carnations-on the façade of its Ladd & Kelsey-designed building.

This will be the 22nd time in as many years that the Museum has commissioned a rose in honor of the
Tournament of Roses, the famous event held every year in Pasadena. Because the Museum serves as the backdrop for the televised parade-camera crews are positioned directly across the street on Colorado Boulevard-millions of viewers around the world recognize and enjoy the rose.

This year's rose, designed by Charisma Floats in Pasadena, will feature a bright palette of purple and
white flowers. Photographers and camera crews are welcome to view and record this event; please contact the Museum's press department for more information.
