Talented actor Michael Praed has hit the bulls eye with a top role in the deliciously dark thriller Sleuth at Blackpool's Grand Theatre from Monday 10th March to Saturday 15th March.
Michael is probably best known for his role as Robin of Loxley (Robin Hood) in the British television series Robin of Sherwood, which attained cult status worldwide in the 1980s. In Sleuth, Michael plays aspiring actor Milo Tindle who arrives at the impressive home of famous mystery writer, Andrew Wyke, only to be unwittingly drawn into a tangled web of intrigue and gamesmanship, where nothing is quite what it seems...
Simon MacCorkindale - best known for his role as Consultant Harry Harper in BBC's Casualty – takes the role of Andrew Wyke in this audacious revival of Anthony Shaffer's masterpiece. A dark psychological ‘thriller about thrillers' and an intriguing study of human conflict, jealousy and manipulation, Sleuth proves to be far more than a whodunit and promises to baffle even the most proficient detective!
Sleuth is also one of the greatest ever stage thrillers. It ran for a total of 12 years in London and New York, winning the Tony Award for Best Play and inspired the hugely successful film made in 1972 starring Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine, which has been remade for 2007 starring Michael Caine and Jude Law!
Sleuth will grip audiences at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool from Monday 10th March to Saturday 15th March 2008. Monday at 8pm, Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2pm. Tickets are priced from only £14 and are on sale now from the Grand Theatre Box Office. Great group and Friends of the Grand discounts available. -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
