"Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas" DVD Collection Available Tuesday, December 11
Columbia Records will release "Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas" -- a deluxe five hour double-DVD commemorating the historic five-year sold-out run of Celine Dion's attendance record-breaking Las Vegas concert extravaganza, "A New Day" -- on Tuesday, December 11.
The "Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas" DVD collection will include Celine's Las Vegas spectacular in its entirety, featuring 18 songs and 90 minutes of music, filmed in breath-taking state-of-the-art high definition during week's worth of performances during the week of January 17-21, 2007.
In addition, "Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas" will premiere more than three hours worth of bonus material including three documentary features: "Because You Loved Me - A Tribute to the Fans"; "A New Day - All Access," a revelatory behind-the-scenes look at 12 hours in the life of Celine as she creates that day's performance of her Las Vegas extravaganza, from leaving home to soundcheck to a night vision view of the show from her unique backstage perspective; and "A New Day - The Secrets," an intimate collection of highlights, high-jinx, and memories spanning the five years of magic that made "A New Day" the hottest ticket in Las Vegas history.
Launched on March 25, 2003, Celine Dion's "A New Day" began with Celine's initial three-year commitment -- later extended to five years -- to appear five nights a week at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, a 4000-seat arena designed specifically for her show. A 90-minute event, "A New Day" introduced a new form of theatrical entertainment, a fusion of song, performance art, innovative stage craft and state-of-the-art technology. The show was created by Dragone Productions, a team led by Franco Dragone, the creative spirit behind ten of the critically acclaimed productions by Cirque du Soleil, including the groundbreaking "O" at Bellagio in Las Vegas.
On December 15, 2006, Celine announced that she was entering the last year of performances with the final curtain set to rise and fall on December 15, 2007, four days after the release of her "Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas" DVD collection.
Over the course of the show's record-breaking sold-out run, more than 3,000,000 people have seen Celine Dion's "A New Day." When the show's final curtain falls on December 15, 2007, "A New Day" will have taken in approximately $400,000,000, one of the highest concert grosses in music history. -- www.celinedion.com
