AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced that Joliet Oncology-Hematology Associates, Ltd. (JOHA) has awarded AT&T a three-year contract to provide Managed Internet Service (MIS), in addition to other network solutions.

Continuing its relationship as JOHA's primary provider, AT&T will enhance operational efficiency between JOHA's eight locations by providing increased bandwidth for the growing demand for digital medical-file transfers.

"In today's age of early detection and medical collaboration, the ability to quickly and easily share medical information among doctors is critical," said P.J. Sidhu, administrator, JOHA. "Our patients deserve quality, reliable service, and with AT&T, we continue to deliver just that — timely, informed diagnoses that comes from real-time collaboration."

With AT&T's MIS solution, doctors in Kankakee, Flossmoor, Joliet and Morris can transfer medical files and information across AT&T's network. Backed by Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology, MIS not only provides higher bandwidth capacity but also
faster system response to meet steadily increasing online demands. Ultimately, these higher-quality connections provide physicians diagnosing serious medical problems quicker access to critical medical information.

"Advanced medicine and the latest technology are essential to providing quality medical treatment today," said Virgil Pund, vice president of Government/Education/Medical Accounts, AT&T Midwest. "Joliet Oncology-Hematology Associates will be better-enabled to build healthy communities through increased capabilities and collaboration with AT&T's network solutions."

Also included in the AT&T MIS solution is use of the AT&T BusinessDirect® Web portal for personalized, secure, anytime access to detailed information regarding critical customer applications.-AT&T
