Turkey bombs northern Iraq again

Turkish warplanes have again bombed alleged Kurdish guerrilla positions in northern Iraq.

The Iraqi Kurdish authorities say that no one was injured in the bombardment. Despite international pressure, Turkish forces launched several attacks against targets in northern Iraq earlier this week.

A statement from Turkey's general staff said that attacks against Kurdish separatists would continue. The outlawed Kurdistan workers party, PKK, uses bases in northern Iraq to launch attacks against Turkish targets.

Ankara is hoping that the military action will end the attacks. The PKK is fighting for Kurdish autonomy in southeastern Turkey. - By Radio Netherlands, Copyright
