What will your family do when you gather for the holidays? If you have a Wii console, you have an instant party with Wii Sports. But when you’ve had your fill of all the backhands, chip shots, strikes and right hooks you can dish out, here are some other games that your family can jump right into.
Wii Play gives you nine very different games all on one disc. Each game is easily accessible for every member of the family, and the wide range of games means there’s something for everyone. Whether you challenge your siblings to a game of Table Tennis, your father to a game of Billiards, your mother to a Mii-finding challenge or meet grandpa on the Shooting Range, you’re bound to have fun with the Wii Remote. Oh, and don’t forget to outride grandma in the Charge! cow-racing game.
If your family is more of the brainy type, you can have a battle of wits with Big Brain Academy for Wii. Whether you try to conquer by yourself or as a team the challenges Big Brain Academy for Wii throws your way, one thing stays constant: You’ll feel the urge to play time and again to do even better than before! You can try to get the biggest brain in the family, or you can show them what’s-what in multiplayer challenges. The activities in Big Brain Academy for Wii will have you patting yourself on the back, or smacking your head, for hours!
Maybe your family is the parting type. Luckily, there’s Mario Party 8. You can play against each other in full-fledged board games or duel in multiplayer mini-game match-ups. The zany, fast-paced mini-games of Mario Party 8 will take you through all the motions with the Wii Remote. Walk a tightrope, snowboard, row, decorate a cake, even shake a soda can until it erupts with sugary goodness: the weirdness and fun of the mini-games offer new laughs every time.
If your family is small in numbers but big on adventure, grab a copy of Super Mario Galaxy and embark on an adventure through space. Super Mario Galaxy’s inventive Co-Star Mode lets two players guide Mario in his quest for Stars. As player one controls Mario’s movements or actions, player two can use the Wii Remote to collect Star Bits for Mario and even stop enemies in their tracks. With great timing, the second player can even help Mario perform a special Co-Star Jump.
Families come in all shapes and sizes. Thankfully, Wii games come in all varieties. Find the right game for your family this holiday season and spend time with the ones you love.-Nintendo
