The festival at Woodford, just north of Brisbane, runs until New Year's Day.
Festival manager Amanda Jaekes says along with the one-day festival goers, 16,000 seasoned campers will brave wet weather to enjoy six days of events.
"With 2,500 performers, it's hard to pull out any highlights," she said.
"It depends on what musical tastes you're into, but a few of the bigger crowd pullers will be the Cat Empire, Blue King Brown, Sarah Blasko and the Waifs." - By ABC Australia Copyright
