The six French workers, employed by Zoe's Ark and found guilty of attempting to kidnap 103 children in Chad have left the country and are on their way home to France.
The six members of the charity organisation Zoe's Ark were sentenced to eight years' forced labour in Chad but, at the request of the French government, are being permitted to serve their sentence in France.
The workers claim that they are innocent of the charge of kidnapping and insist that Zoe's Ark intended to take orphans from Darfur to adoptive parents in Europe. However, many of the children are not orphans and are residents of Chad. - Source: By Radio Netherlands.
