Auckland Museum Opens New Retail Facilities

To further meet the needs of visitors for refreshments, Auckland Museum is delighted to welcome award-winning Columbus Coffee to a new home in the southern Grand Atrium. The family-friendly café will be open from 10 AM - 5 PM daily serving excellent coffee and a variety of fresh and tempting fare including the return of the famous Auckland Museum ham sandwich.

The Museum Shop opens next door with a combination bookshop and children's discoveryzone. The book offer will concentrate on New Zealand and Pacific titles and the children's merchandise will be educationally based. The shop will also be home to a working beehive and live gecko display.

The existing Museum Shop in the Grand Foyer has been completely renovated and now offers a light and inviting shopping experience for tourists and corporate gift buyers.

"We are very happy to offer enhanced facilities to our visitors" commented commercial manager Scott Ashton. "Food and beverage and quality retail always rate highly on visitor expectation surveys, so we are confident our new offer will help deliver an enriched visitor experience."
