Dutch Antilles demand Dutch action on drugs

The Dutch Antilles want the Netherlands to take tougher action against drug smuggling and misuse within its own borders.

Antillean politicians say that the islands and surrounding countries are being used as a staging post to meet a demand for drugs from the Netherlands.

Glenn Sulvaren, chairman of the PAR, the largest political party in the islands, says that the issue of drugs will be raised during a political discussion with a delegation of MPs from The Hague in January.
