Selling Property while owing heloc
Suze, my husband and I took out a HELOC to make upgrades to our home. We still have a mortgage that we are paying. My husband has told me that when we sell our home (now worth 4X what we paid), we will not have a problme selling it because the companies that we owe a mortgage and heloc will get the money owed off the top? Is this true?
My husband is retiring after 35 years of service but will continue to worK. Since I started late paying into my pension, he said I will be able to enroll in a Roth IRA (starting at $10K) So I do hope we will be able to sell the property. Thank u Suze
