While massive security arrangements are underway.
Police in Jerusalem has released its plans to heighten security, which will see all the main streets sealed off to traffic and parked vehicles towed off to a special parking lot to be erected at city's Teddy stadium.
The city Police chief Aharon Franco on Wednesday said: "The security establishment has not received any warnings or information on any intent to attempt to harm the President's convoy," but he believes many may try to make disturbances during the visit.
Police is gearing up for a possible demonstration by supporters of US convicted spy Jonathan Pollard demanding his release.
They had once in the past managed to sneak to the floor of the room where US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was staying in Jerusalem.
Amid high-pitch preparations, Jerusalem municipal workers from the City Beautification Department also began placing US, Israeli and Jerusalem city flags throughout the capital.
Approximately 1,500 US, Israeli, and Jerusalem city flags will be placed at points that Bush will visit and in sections of the city through which his motorcade will pass, a statement from the Municipality said.
Bush's nine day trip to the Middle East starting on 8th Jan follows the Mideast peace conference in November he convened in Annapolis, and will be his first visit to Israel as President. - By DDNEWS
