Sweden Rated High on Tax Scale

A new study has compared Swedish taxes with the rest of the world, which shows high taxes in Sweden.

According to the report published on Swedbanks website the study found that Sweden had the highest tax burden in the European Union in relation to the gross national product.

The study also found that Sweden was high on income tax especially in relation to the buying and selling of shares and stocks.

The study, which was done by Swedbank in collaboration with Professor Sven-Olof Lodin concluded that overall the taxes in Sweden should be lowered in the most vulnerable areas, including company and income tax if to remain competitive with other nations. - By © Copyright Sveriges Radio 2008
