GM Discloses Political Contributions

As part of its overall efforts to promote transparency for stockholders and others, General Motors Corporation is releasing its first, voluntary disclosure of corporate contributions for the calendar year to section 527 organizations and individual candidates for state and local office.

GM will provide this disclosure on an annual basis around the end of each calendar year or the start of the new year.

The amount and recipients of these corporate contributions for 2007 can be found on GM’s website at: www.gm.com

This site also provides a copy of GM's Policy on Corporate Political Contributions and Expenditures as well as a link to the FEC website which details employee contributions to the federal GM Political Action Committee (PAC) and the GM PAC’s contributions to candidates, party committees and other PACs.

GM’s voluntary disclosure represents every effort and intention by the automaker to fully report all such contributions. However, given the scope and size of GM’s operations and the variety of contribution channels, some contributions could be inadvertently omitted from this initial disclosure. If GM is made aware of additional contributions through its own review process, employees or by other means and sources outside the company, it will immediately disclose those contributions.-General motors
