George recorded a team-high 16 points and 13 rebounds off the bench in UNC Asheville's 61-58 win over SEC member South Carolina Saturday night. He was 8-of-11 from the floor (.727 percent), including the go-ahead dunk with less than :30 seconds left. George had five offensive rebounds and blocked three shots in the victory.
Holmes scored 24 points and drained 5-of-9 three-pointers (.556 percent) in leading VMI to a 102-99 road win at Mercer. He scored 11 of VMI's last 14 points over a span of 1:49 and hit the game-winning three-pointer with :04.6 seconds left. Holmes also made two free throws in the final minute and finished 8-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the line.
Kenny George had 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in VMI’s victory at Mercer. After a slow start in which he missed six of his first seven attempts from the field, he hit a string of four-straight three-pointers in the second half that helped VMI rally from a deficit to build a six-point lead, its largest of the game.
