US President George W Bush who is on a visit to Israel to revive the stalled Mid-East peace mission urged the Jewish country to end its occupation of the West Bank.
He also pushed for a peace treaty to be signed within a year to create a Palestinian state.
Bush's language could cause political pain to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Earlier Bush met thePalestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Jerusalem.
On his second day of a three-day visit to Israel, Jerusalem, and the Palestinian territories Bush visited the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, also in the West Bank. - By DDNEWS
