NCR Corporation today announced the next generation NCR RealPOS DynaKey - the point-of-sale (POS) interface that has set the retail industry standard for cashier training and productivity for more than a decade.
The newest DynaKey, which will debut at the National Retail Federation convention in New York, Jan. 14-17, offers all the benefits of previous models with added features including a larger 15-inch color display, forward/backward function keys, optional capacitive touch screen and optional integrated biometrics.

NCR RealPOS DynaKey is now available with an optional integrated fingerprint reader for retailers who want to add or enhance applications for POS access and timekeeping. With the optical sensor, which can be added as a field upgrade, employees use their uniquely identifiable fingerprint instead of traditional passwords, swipe cards or keys that can be forgotten, lost or exchanged among users.
Standard with the newest version of DynaKey is a larger 15-inch color LCD display. With high-resolution graphics, the display can provide more information on a single screen, with greater clarity - making it even easier for cashiers to complete transactions confidently while focusing on the customer interaction.
An optional touch-screen display, available with previous models of DynaKey, is based on capacitive technology, which provides higher accuracy and greater durability than other types of touch screens. Combining DynaKey with a robust capacitive touch screen allows retailers to automate and simplify customer service requests, speed complex information-retrieval transactions, or readily implement point-of-purchase promotions.
Even with a larger display and additional function keys, DynaKey presents a slim profile - helping save valuable counter space - and is only slightly higher and wider than previous models. The smooth, clean appearance is aesthetically pleasing and contributes to an appealing, uncluttered checkout area.
NCR RealPOS DynaKey is available through NCR's direct sales force as well as the NCR RealPartner reseller network. Used by leading retailers worldwide with NCR POS software, including NCR Advanced Checkout Solution and NCR Advanced Store, DynaKey also has been certified for use with many third-party POS applications.
