
Former Michigan Congressman Mark Deli Siljander has been charged in a terror conspiracy case. The Republican Siljander was a part of a terrorist fundraising ring that sent funds to an al-Qaida and Taliban support who have threatened the United States.
Authorities believe Mark Deli Siljander was paid $50,000 for lying about lobbying for an Islamic charity that was secretly supporting terrorists. He was charged with money laundering conspiracy and obstruction of justice among others.
Mark Deli Siljander served two terms in the House of Representatives and was appointed a United States delegate to the United Nations in 1987.

According to CNN "A 42-count indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Missouri, accuses the Islamic American Relief Agency of paying Mark Deli Siljander $50,000 for the lobbying -- money that turned out to be stolen from the U.S. Agency for International Development."
