Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has said that the government intends to put forward a combined proposal about gender bias marriages, but the government is split on the issue.
Currently the Christian Democrat Party are the main opponents to the proposal, who say that a marriage can only be between a man and a woman.
Party leader Göran Hägglund said that his party proposes that same sex partnership have the same legal rights as marriage, but that the title of marriage to remain for a joining of a man and a woman.
Tuesday was the last day for a member of the government to put forward a proposal to change the law. The opposition has now said that the proposal should be taken directly to the parliament.- Source: By SRI News
