
It was reported today that two soldiers from the United States were killed in an attack in Afghanistan. The main US base in the country was involved in a rocket attack.
The attack happened at the Bagram airbase. Another six people were caught up in the attack and suffered injuries.
It's said to be unusual for such attacks to be carried out at the US army base. The Bagram airbase is based in the north east area of Kabul.
These two deaths now mean the amount of US army members killed in Afghanistan in 2009 has now risen to 80.
According to a statement released by NATO they say that the soldiers were part of the International Security Assistance Force.
Isaf consists of troops from over 40 different countries. These include soldiers from the United States and various European countries.
The United States has announced that it will be sending an additional 21,000 more troops to the region later this year.
