It is the first time in the history of the Noah's Ark search that an exploration team is getting a material evidence and graphic documentation. This makes it not only a the significant breakthrough in the Noah's Ark-search, but one that is supported with the most substantial evidence in recent history.
Qatar's leading English daily The Peninsula has a breaking story today where Satish Kanady writes that scientists from Turkey and University of Hong Kong have found a "material evidence" of the existence of Noah's Ark on the Mountain Ararat near the border of Armenia on Turkey's side.
"Dogubayazit (Turkey’s Iran-Armenian Border) • For the first time in the seven decade-long history of the search for the legendary Noah’s Ark, a Turkish-Hong Kong exploration team on Tuesday came out with “material evidence”, to prove that the Ark was nestled on Mount Ararat, Turkey’s highest mountain peak bordering Iran and Armenia.

"A panel of experts, comprising Turkish authorities, veteran mountaineers, archaeologists, geologists and members of Hong Kong-based Noah’s Ark Ministries International, also displayed an almost one-metre-long peice of petrified wood before the media and specially invited international experts."
The story goes on describing the location on Mt. Ararat where the wooden material is found.
"“The structure was discovered in the interiors of an unusual cave. The 11.5m wide and 2.6m high white wooden texture was revealed after removing thick layers of volcanic ash on the cave wall,” panel members said at a press conference.
One of the underlying issues in the search for the Ark is the proper identification of its wood fragments. A petrographic examination carried out by the Applied Geoscience Centre of the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Hong Kong, identified the object as a petrified wooden structure, the panel said.
“Some of the big holes found on the structure indicate the locations where branches used to grow on tree. In places, original holes are partly or completely replaced by individual minerals and crystalline materials that can be found in rock materials,” said Dr Ahmet Ozbek, a panel member, who is also a faculty of Geology Engineering Kahramanmara Suctcu Imam University." - Source: HULIQ via The Peninsula Online

Not true ! Ron Wyatt dicovered the ark lower down on Mt Arrat about 20 years ago and provided all kinds of evidence to prove it ! The Turkish Government has built a visitors center there and agreed that it was indeed Noah's ark. These "new finds" are too late and a positive fake !

There is always a lot of talk and very little evidence. Let's show some evidence and shut up if there is none. I have heard this song and dance before. No disrespect intended.
The Gopher wood should have pitch within and without according to Genesis 6:14, and the structure should be a minimum of three stories tall. Genesis 6:16 This boat is big and it is not made of Cedar, Maple, Oak, Mahogany, or any other wood, only Gopher wood.
I think that if they find the Ark it would be wonderful and it would cause some ripples in the philosophical community. It would be fun to watch.
I think that most people would not care or change anything they do anyway, and some of those who would change over this kind of thing, are the kind of people I think are always looking for Jesus and his face in some pancake or soda spill. I do not think it will stop people from committing adultery or stealing or doing any other of the favorite sins of the Human race. If the Ark is there, it is there because people can be very, very bad!
On the other hand, If the Ark was there it would change everything about the way the world looks at mans fate and destiny, that is a given. But there is a problem with that, if it is true that God punished the world with a global flood and saved only eight people, you should be in line with God and his plan already.
If it takes this kind of evidence to make you think about your life, you already have problems. In the context of the story of Noah and the Ark story, the next destruction of the world will not be by water but by fire.
If it is true, it has always been true. If it is not there, it has always not been there.
Please, give us some evidence or go back up the mountain!

Ron Wyatt is a fraud.
The structure at his side is not wood some kind of sand stone. I had been on it, filmed it and took a piece by myself to show it around. Geologists said that it is sand stone. Though it looked really old piece of wood to me. I keep it as paper weight.
Besides; approval of Turkish gov. means nothing, they just want more Tourists. Altough the site has Turkish govermental road signs indicating "Noahs Ark this way", the gov. itself has not officially accepted the place. I have asked ministry of culture of Turkey, tourism as well as others, they all said that officially, there is no noahs ark.
Ron, is a con man, a lier, because of him and his types, no other scientific groups could get permissions for proper search.
If it was truely Naoh Ark and if Ron could prove it, he woul burn his ass in front of media and proclaim it. However, all he did is, building a cafe at the site, and creating a small museum inside and dedicate it to himself.
Even at the museum you can not find hard facts but theories.
I hope these Chinese are better than Ron-like crusader, who beleieves that he has the sole permission from God and he was born to find the ark, so that he can even justify to lie about it to himself.
How do I know all these? Well I had been one of the member of one of the scientific groups for the last 10 years, I am also a film maker and made several docs in the area. And I am a Turk.

You speak of Ron Wyatt in the present tense. He died more than 10 yrs. ago.
However, I agree that he did NOT find the ark, or any of the other things he claimed. It doesn't take much research on the internet to find that most of his claims were bogus, and not even "science".
Anyone who TRULY wants to know Truth needs to do investigation on their own, and then counter-investigation to check anything before they believe it. I will be watching to see if the incongruities in this current story are ever resolved.
