Professor Lisa Jardine
Professor Lisa Jardine is an academic, writer, critic and broadcaster. She is Centenary Professor of Renaissance Studies and Director of the Centre for Editing Lives and Letters at Queen Mary, University of London. She is an Honorary Fellow of King's College and Jesus College, Cambridge, and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and holds honorary doctorates from the University of St Andrews, Sheffield Hallam University and the Open University. Professor Jardine is a Council member of the Royal Institution. For the academic year 2007-8 she is seconded to the Royal Society as Advisor to its Collections. She is a LDBS Foundation Governor, St Marylebone Church of England Girls Secondary School, London. She takes an active interest in a wide range of education issues.

The Right Honourable Sir Timothy Sainsbury
Sir Timothy Sainsbury is a businessman and philanthropist. He was MP for Hove from 1973 to 1997, holding a number of Ministerial posts in the previous Conservative administration including those of Minister for Trade (1990-92) and Minister for Industry (1992-94). He enjoyed a distinguished career at J Sainsbury plc, where he was a board member from 1962 until 1983. Sir Timothy is Chairman of the V&A's International Council, which aims to secure major donations for the FuturePlan. He was Chairman of the Somerset House Trust from 1997 until 2002, and was President of a £25m campaign for Worcester College, Oxford. Sir Timothy was President of the Hove Conservative Association from 1998 until 2002 and was President of the Conservative Friends of Israel from 1997 until 2005.
Sir Timothy Sainsbury has made recordable donations to the Conservative Party during the last five years.
The Victoria & Albert Museum houses collections of fine and applied art, craft and design. It includes the National Art Library, and the Trustees also manage the Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green.
Trustees are not remunerated.
