The movie industry lost a talented movie star as Heath Ledger is found dead this afternoon in Lower Manhattan Apartment in New York City.

According to TMZ report Heath Ledger has sadly died. He was found dead at his home in NYC today by a housekeeper at 3:35 pm. No news on what happened and we are shocked and sad to report this terrible news. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and of course his baby girl Matilda.

Warner Bros. Statement on Heath Ledger

Alan Horn, President and COO of Warner Bros. and Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Group have issued the following statement to TMZ. The studio is producing the next Batman film, "The Dark Knight."

"The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."

NYPD On Heath Ledger Death

"ON TUESDAY, 01/22/08, AT APPROXIMATELY 1530 HOURS, IN THE CONFINES OF THE 5 PRECINCT, POLICE RESPONDED TO 421 BROOME STREET AND FOUND A M/W/28 UNCONSCIOUS. THE VICTIM WAS PRONOUNCED DOA AT THE SCENE. M.E.’S OFFICE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF DEATH. INVESTIGATION CONTINUES."

As you can see the police statement on Heath Ledger death and the cause is very limited and brief. So far the cause of the death is not determined. The investigation is working. There are rumors going around on the internet about possible cause of the death of Heath Ledger; however, due to our respect to author and the entertainment that his movies have provided to us, this publication will restrain from speculating on what caused the death of Heath Ledger. We will wait until there is a word from the authorities on this matter.

The Cityroom blog owned by The New York Times quotes Mr. Ledger's words that he gave in an interview to New York Times last November in London saying "'I feel like I'm wasting time if I repeat myself." He said in the interview that he was not proud of his latest role, in Todd Haynes's "I am Not There," in which Mr. Ledger was one of a half-dozen actors depicting the musician Bob Dylan. "I feel the same way about everything I do. The day I say, "It's good' is the day I should start doing something else,” he said in the interview."

Heathcliff Andrew Ledger (April 4, 1979 – January 22, 2008) was an Academy Award-nominated Australian actor. After appearing in television roles during the 1990s, Ledger developed a Hollywood career. He starred in both critical and financial successes, including The Patriot, Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain, and completed the role of The Joker in the forthcoming The Dark Knight.
