Concern about the global credit crisis, the recent stock market slump, and the implications for the world economy will dominate the agenda.
Among those attending will be financier George Soros, who says a recession might now be very difficult to avoid in the United States and Britain.
He has accused the authorities of failing to curb the worst excesses of the financial markets.
"Markets have been left to their own devices and the authorities came to rely on the markets to right themselves," he said.
