"F*** Jesus"; Did The ESPN Anchor Say This, As Well?

Follow us on Twitter

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on the ongoing issue involving ESPN anchorwoman Dana Jacobson. Catholic League to get "to the bottom" of this kind of unthinkable behavior.

“We know that Jacobson said ‘F*** Notre Dame’ at the January 11 celebrity roast for radio personalities Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic. We also know that ESPN has suspended her for a week as a result. What we don’t know is whether, as reported on some websites, she also said ‘F*** Jesus’ at the event. If she did, then that changes everything.

“I have a call into a top official at ESPN on this matter. He will be asked to verify what is on the video. If Jacobson did say, ‘F*** Jesus,’ then the penalty in force is obviously inadequate: it is one thing to use an obscenity to rip a Catholic university, quite another to use the vilest of terms about Jesus. Our curiosity was heightened when an ESPN official whom we’ve already spoken to refused to confirm or deny that Jacobson said ‘F*** Jesus.’ If she didn’t, then all they need to do is make the video public—put it on YouTube. If she did, then it looks like we might be dealing with a cover up.

“One way or the other, we are going to get to the bottom of this. The official whom I called is traveling today, and so it would be unfair to list his name and e-mail address as the person to contact. But one person whose name I can list—he spoke to Catholic League Director of Communications Kiera McCaffrey last night—is Chris LaPlaca, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications.”

Leave the woman alone. The Catholic League should be looking in to more important issues like the Church it self. Between being one of the most wealthiest financial institutions and non tax paying and the child molestation cases this is nothing. Does this person have any idea what a roast is all about? If you have never been to a roast or seen one that that has not been censored thats what a roast is about. By the way does the Catholic League know about the first amendment in regards to freedom of speach? Back off asshole. This is America.

No, I don't think it's right to leave the woman alone or the ESPN alone for Dana Jocobson's comments on faith. People get up and make stupid comments about what is precious to other people. In fact the entire Christian community in USA should stand up and condemn this. So next time no one dare to insult faith.

Your an idiot, what are you some big ESPN intern asked by the boss to cover this up, your opinion is trash my friend, this is the Catholic League, if you didn't like it you can leave.

Keep exposing this, the people i've talked also confirmed she did say that ESPN is trying to cover it up. Keep fighting this Catholic League give ESPN the hell it deserves for condoning the action.

@ Kellie:

Why do I suspect you'd have no problem with it if she'd said, "F*** Mohammed" or "F*** Buddha" or "F*** Thor"?

The "entire Christian community in the USA" should probably realize they aren't the only F***ing people in this country and deal with it.

P.S. I love how your true christian values show through what sounds like a threat against anyone whose beliefs differ from yours...

Robert Howard is a moron

Jesus's picture

YOU, Robert Howard, are a moron.

Of course the Christians are going to be the most insulted because it was their religion that was insulted, YOU MORON.

Just like you'd be insulted if someone said "Fuck all morons." Since you're a moron, you'd be insulted, YOU MORON.

One difference between "Fuck Jesus" and "Fuck Allah" is, if she had said the latter, she'd have to go into hiding now because a few Muslim clerics in Iran or someplace would call for her death, and a million militant muslims would be gunning for her.

Have I mentioned yet that Robert Howard is a moron?

Wow

Robert Howard's picture

I'm a moron because you apparently have no reading comprehension skills?

And, once again, we see the "true christian" values shining through in your response. And I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't like you using his name to post your insults.

Hi Robert,

In fact yes I would have the same problem if anyone insulted Islam or Buddhism. In my early post I did not want to mention them because I thought it is good to keep the post focused. However, since you brought it up I say it's not right to insult any religion. Religion is precious to people who truly believe in God. If you have something very very close to you, that is a source of hope, inspiration, light, no matter who you are, and someone comes and insults it and attacks it in such violent and graffick words, what would you do?

In terms of my "true christian values" asking fellow Christians to condemn what is wrong is threat? Where is the boundary between the freedom of speach and what is right and wrong? Let them not believe in Christ or any other religion, but who gives them right to publicly use that kind of words in such a way?

I would blow it off. It's their right to have such an opinion, no?

"In terms of my "true christian values" asking fellow Christians to condemn what is wrong is threat?"

No, but saying, "So next time no one dare to insult faith" certainly sounds like a threat to me.

"Let them not believe in Christ or any other religion, but who gives them right to publicly use that kind of words in such a way?"

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights do, last time I checked.

Rules are rules and when rules are bent, there are no rules. EVERYBODY should have to abide by those rules. If it is wrong to say anything bad about any race or sexual preference or other religion, then it is wrong to say anything bad about Jesus. The problem with those who are always bashing Christians is that there must really be something there...that they hate them so much. Why do people make such a big deal out of "hate" crimes? Saying those ugly words about Jesus is a "hate" crime. Bashing Christians is a "hate" crime. Do Christians make you feel guilty...do they bother your conscience? EVERYONE should be treated the same way. No matter what the color or sexual preference or religion...you don't have to accept what others believe but you do have to respect their right to believe it...keep your agendas to yourselves...treat everyone with kindness...this is what true Christianity is all about...what is wrong with that? What did JESUS ever do to anyone other than preach a message of goodness and kindness and love? This world we live in is turned upside down....good is considered bad...bad is considered good...no wonder we are all in such a mess! JESUS help us all!

"The problem with those who are always bashing Christians is that there must really be something there...that they hate them so much."
People not wanting to be controlled by one particular group with warped ethics is what gets people's backs up. I doesn't have anything to do with whether or not the christian belief is given any credence. Stop pretending that opposition gives you validation. Your own scriptures talk about god giving man freedom of choice. Why can't you people extend the same courtesy? Could it be because the leaders of your cult crave the power of having control over everybody in the entire country? The entire world? And through your acceptance of this control, you've been co-opted to wage a verbal or political or physical war against all those that haven't.

"Bashing Christians is a "hate" crime."
Stop being so melodramatic. Anyone saying F... Jesus is not bashing christians. A pickup full of good 'ol christian boys tying up a fag or a black and dragging them behind the truck until they are dead is a hate crime. Nobody is bashing christians. Stop lying to make it sound like they are.

Problem is...you only hear or read what you want to hear or read...
"No matter what the color or sexual preference or religion...you don't have to accept what others believe but you do have to respect their right to believe it...keep your agendas to yourselves...treat everyone with kindness...this is what true Christianity is all about...what is wrong with that?"
If we were ALL kind to one another and NONE of us judged one another, there would not be any of these problems...
TRUE Christians believe in this and believe in loving one another...even those who are full of hate and they don't HATE those with opposing views. I have loads of friends from all walks of life who I love dearly...I don't believe in everything they say or do...but I still love them because that is what CHRIST JESUS taught me to do. If I don't love them or if I judge them, then I am not following his word...that is truth. When I say...keep your agendas to yourselves...that just means that if you believe something other than what I believe, then don't try to force it on me as I should in the same respect not force my beliefs on you. A Christian in this day and time...is not suppposed to have any right to voice anything but if someone of another type of belief tries to change everything to their beliefs, then I am supposed to except having that forced upon me...NO. That is why I said...keep your agendas to yourselves. It works both ways. Like they say...if you don't like what is on TV, turn it off. BUT when it comes to my own personal rights, then I will stand up for my right to believe in what I believe is right.

"A pickup full of good 'ol christian boys tying up a fag or a black and dragging them behind the truck until they are dead is a hate crime."
(...though I doubt it was good 'ol Christian boys...)
YES...the above sounds like a hate crime to me. But when a person quotes what the Bible says about homosexuality, that is not about hate....it is actually about love and the hope that those who are living that lifestyle aren't separated from the love of God eternally because of sin...but since you don't believe in that sort of thing anyways, it is probably a lost cause to even talk about it...
AND a true Christian doesn't look at skin color...we are all flesh and blood...God loves us all...he created us all...why should he love one over the other? But folks do get tired of the old rhetoric about slavery and the attitudes that those past actions caused. We need to put that in the past where it belongs...I didn't do those things to anyones relatives of the past and I would never do that to anyone today...those people in the past made those mistakes...I don't have that attitude from the past and I don't want it directed towards me. So...if the ones who are still living in the past will start living in the present...we should all love and care for one another...no matter what race or color or sexual preference or whatever.

"People not wanting to be controlled by one particular group with warped ethics is what gets people's backs up. I doesn't have anything to do with whether or not the christian belief is given any credence. Stop pretending that opposition gives you validation."
I think you have a misconception about Christians...maybe "religious" people may be getting your back up...but they do not represent a true Christian. And as for "warped ethics"...it depends on what you are referring to...if it is the values that this country was established on..I don't see anything warped at all. Rightly divide the truth. There are people in ALL walks of life that carry things to an extreme in some form or fashion. It doesn't mean that the whole is like the one.

But as for the purpose of this whole discussion...the "lady" shouldn't have used such language in the first place and it was (what a stupid word) "bashing" Christ. What if someone said that about your mother? You wouldn't think that was derogatory and hateful toward your mother? Come on...Please don't tell me you hate your mother...and you wouldn't care if someone talked about her that way. WELL, as you have love for your mother, many have love for Christ and can't stand for anyone to talk about him in that way. It would be the same for saying something like that about Martin Luther King or Ronald Reagan or Hillary Clinton or ANYONE that ANYONE held in high esteem.
No Sir,
I think you need to GROW UP and MATURE...

Robert Howard doesn't get it. If she had made the same comments about the Muslim, Jewish or any other faith, she would have immediately been fired.

You're forgetting this was at a celebrity roast. I've heard plenty of anti-semitic, racist, etc. comments at those and no one ever got fired for them.

Problem is...the people getting talked about (or roasted) at the celebrity roast allow themselves be talked about in that manner. Jesus was not being roasted and he wasn't there to give his permission to be spoken of in that way...but he probably would have forgiven her because she knew not what she was doing...and he loved her anyway.
