Simon And Garfunkel Classics At Baltimore Orchestra

Half of the unparalleled Simon & Garfunkel duo, Art Garfunkel will make a special appearance with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, February 14 at the Music Center at Strathmore and February 15 and 16 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

Conductor Steven Reineke will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in some of the duo's classics such as "Bridge over Troubled Water" and "Mrs. Robinson," along with works from his newest recording, Some Enchanted Evening. See below for complete program information.

With an unmistakable voice that The New York Times describes as "clear and resonant, surely one of the finest instruments in all of popular music," Garfunkel has performed to sold‐out audiences for more than 30 years. After parting with Paul Simon in 1970, Garfunkel went on to record 15 solo albums and appeared on several movie soundtracks. In addition to his singing career, Garfunkel has appeared in several films, including Catch‐22 and Carnal Knowledge, and has also published three books of poetry.

Garfunkel's latest album, Some Enchanted Evening, is a musical celebration of material from the 20th century's prominent songwriters, including Rodgers & Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Antonio Carlos Jobim and George Gershwin. -- www.baltimoresymphony.org
