Sweden took part in the worldwide Holocaust Remembrance Day over the weekend.

A demonstration in memory of the Holocaust victims was held on the anniversary of the liberation of prisoners from the Auschwitz concentration camp on 27th January 1945.

An exhibition on genocide was held at Raoul Wallenbergs square in Stockholm, organised by the Forum of Living History. Visitors included well-known politicians and locals, as well as survivors from the Holocaust and other genocides across the globe.

Sweden’s Culture Minister reinforced the message that we should never forget, adding that a country that loses the knowledge of its past gradually loses its self.
