Two Exclusive Offers For 2007 Subscribers

In addition to the many ballet treats on offer from The Australian Ballet in 2007, subscribers will have the chance to experience the Paris Opera Ballet in Sydney and Matthew Bourne's brilliant reimagining of Swan Lake in Melbourne - access to great seats at a great price.

This exclusive offer is valid for subscribers to the 2007 season of The Australian Ballet and is just one of the many subscriber benefits on offer.

For Sydney subscribers:

Paris Opera Ballet - Australian premiere season One of the world's largest, oldest and most influential dance companies, the Paris Opera Ballet will perform an exclusive Sydney season in 2007 - the company's first time ever in Australia. The programme will consist of two stunning works: Rudolf Nureyev's glorious Swan Lake and George Balanchine's Jewels, a three act homage to ballet and its evolution from classicism to modernity.

These works are two of the most spectacular stagings in the Paris Opera Ballet's repertoire and provide a magnificent showcase for the talents of the entire ensemble, all members of which will travel to Australia for this season.

Artistic Director of The Australian Ballet, David McAllister says, "During the Paris Opera Ballet's 300 year history it has been the benchmark against which others are measured. It will be extraordinary for Australia to have this legendary company visit."

Sydney subscribers to The Australian Ballet will receive first access to the best seats in the house at a special price.

For Melbourne subscribers:

Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake - Australian premiere season Matthew Bourne ignited the theatre world with this stunning reinvention of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. Boldly shattering the traditional concept of swans in tutus, Director/Choreographer Bourne has created a powerful, provocative and totally original Swan Lake. The most talked about innovation in this production is the casting of a male dancer in the coveted role of Odette/Odile - the swan.

The work has been acclaimed since its 1995 premiere in London as a landmark achievement on the international stage: dazzling audiences on Broadway and in London's West End, throughout Britain, in Tokyo, and across Europe and the USA. Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake has won over 30 international theatre awards including three Tony Awards.

A special allocation of seats for selected dates is being held for Melbourne subscribers to The Australian Ballet at a saving of $10 off per seat. -- www.australianballet.com.au
