Minnesota Orchestra Launches Chamber Music Series

The Minnesota Orchestra begins a Sunday evening chamber music series at the new MacPhail Center for Music on February 17, 2008, with additional concerts taking place on April 20 and May 11.

The series showcases 34 musicians and Music Director Osmo Vänskä on clarinet in performances of chamber works by Brahms, Beethoven, Ravel, Mendelssohn and others.

"We are delighted to offer a chamber series in this lovely, intimate setting at the new MacPhail building," says Vänskä. "Our musicians love playing chamber music, and they have programmed these concerts themselves with many intriguing works. These will be very fine experiences for our audiences."

The concerts are performed at MacPhail's 220-seat Antonello Hall—which opened to the public in early January—located at 501 South 2nd Street in Minneapolis, on Sunday, February 17, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 20, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 11, at 7 p.m. -- www.minnesotaorchestra.org
