NYS Thruway is closed due to blowing snow and limited visibility.

Thruway Authority Announces I-90 Closed in Both Directions From Interchanges 46 (Rochester Corning, I-390) to 49 (Depew, Lockport, Route 78)
55-Mile Section Closed Due to Inclement Weather

The New York State Thruway Authority has just announced that the Thruway (I-90) has been closed in both directions from Interchanges 46 (Rochester Corning, I-390) to 49 (Depew, Lockport, Route 78) due to inclement weather.

At this time, westbound motorists must exit the Thruway at Interchange 46 (Rochester, Corning, I-390). Eastbound motorists must exit the Thruway at Interchange 50 (Niagara Falls, I-290).

Motorists are encouraged to avoid this section of the highway until the inclement weather has subsided. Motorists familiar with the area are encouraged to seek alternate routes if travel is necessary.

This 55-mile section of the Thruway will be reopened as soon as conditions permit.
The Authority has activated Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to alert motorists.
