Israel Plans: Nuke strike on Iran.
As the Sunday Times reports ISRAEL is prepared to strike Iran and destroy uranium enrichment facilities. According to the plans, "Mini-nukes"Â or low-yield nuclear "bunker-busters"Â would target a plant at Natanz, facility near Isfahan and water reactor at Arak.
Iranian president Ahmadinajad had frustrated enough world's leaders and did not accept any proposals to Iran on abandoning its nuclear plans. Such obstinate policy does create problem for Israel and its allies. In the past Israel pressed US to solve the Iranian nuclear problem and often raised the problem when meeting with Washington officials.
Israeli officials believe that that will slow nuclear implementation process. Israeli diplomats warned about Iran's nuclear plans, and expressed worries if Iran made one. The Sunday Times reports that Israeli intelligence services Mossad learned that Iran is producing highly enriched uranium and close to implementation of the nuclear weapon.
As it happen in 1981 when Israel bombed a French-built nuclear plant near Iraq's capital Israeli forces are ready and waiting for signal. "As soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished,"Â said one of the sources.
Back than unidentified F-15 interceptors and F-16 bombers destroyed reactor 18 miles south of Baghdad on the orders of Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
A 70-magawatt uranium-powered reactor was at the final stage of completion and did not contain any fuel. The Israeli Government explained its reasons for the attack in a statement saying: "The atomic bombs which that reactor was capable of producing whether from enriched uranium or from plutonium, would be of the Hiroshima size. Thus a mortal danger to the people of Israel progressively arose."
This days Israel posses greater capabilities and could strike from German built dolphin class submarines of cruise missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. In May 2000 Israel was testing by firing from vessels of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean and said to hit a target at the range of 1500 km or 930 miles. This capability is in the scope of reaching targets in Iran.
