Autism Sunday, the International Day of Prayer for Autism and Asperger's Syndrome takes place on Sunday 10th February 2008.

Churches of all denominations have been asked to remember the 60 million people with autism around the world and the 500,000 people in the UK with autism, in prayer.

UK Churches will also be praying for Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Children's Secretary Ed Balls - that they will provide the public services parents, carers and people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome desperately need.

The Autism Awareness Campaign UK has urged Church Leaders Rt.Rev. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, Rt.Rev.John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, Cardinal Cormack Murphy O’Connor, the Archbishop of Westminster, Joel Edwards, General Secretary of the Evangelical Alliance and others to speak out on autism.
