RBC To Invest In Emerging Manager Hedge Funds

RBC Capital Markets today announced the launch of the RBC Emerging Manager Allocator platform, a proprietary pool of capital that is structured to invest in a diversified group of emerging manager hedge funds with a demonstrated ability in alternative investing.

In conjunction with RBC's Global Prime Services Group, the RBC Emerging Manager Allocator builds on RBC's long-standing commitment to early-stage hedge funds.

"These managers have abundant talent and a strong desire to succeed and grow, but they face an enormous challenge - balancing running a business while focusing on fund performance," said Jeremy Frommer, head of Global Prime Services for RBC Capital Markets. "By investing in their funds at an early stage and providing access to RBC's full suite of products and services, the platform aligns the firm's resources with the underlying manager's business and creates a greater opportunity for success."

To identify prospective investments, RBC Capital Markets conducts a proprietary evaluation process focused on emerging manager hedge funds across multiple asset classes and strategies that meet a comprehensive set of investment criteria. Selected funds typically manage between $5 million and $200 million in assets. -- RBC
