Steve Solomon brings his critically acclaimed one-man show, "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm In Therapy" to the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California, for three shows on Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16, 2008.
"My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm In Therapy" is filled with hilarious stories about Steve's extended and wacky family - Mom and Dad; Grandma and Grandpa; brothers and sisters; uncles and aunts; nieces and nephews; cousins and everyone else. The audience also meets the crazy characters that Steve encounters on the road whose sole purpose is to drive him into therapy - and they succeeded.
Steve Solomon, a native of a Brooklyn multi-ethnic neighborhood, wrote the show, which has played to sold-out audiences in venues throughout the United States and Canada. He creates the voices, dialects and sound effects that make the stories and jokes come alive. Steve also wrote the music so there are sure to be musical surprises, as well. One part lasagna, one part kreplach, and two parts Prozac, you don't have to be Jewish or Italian to see this show. All you need to know is what it feels like to leave Thanksgiving dinner with heartburn and a headache, or to wonder how you keep kosher in an Italian kitchen. Steve Solomon sums it up, "The story you see on stage is true, well, most of it, and the characters I portray are real, exaggerated, but real."
Steve Solomon presents three performances of his one-man show "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm In Therapy" at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California.
