Hillary Clinton's Campaign Short of Financial Funds

Hillary Clinton's election campaign is experiencing financial difficulties. The former first lady has donated 3.5 million euros of her own money to her campaign.

US media reports say she is considering pumping more of her own money into her campaign. Her rival Barack Obama has proved far more effective at raising funds. He raised some 21.8 million euros in January as against Mrs Clinton's 8.9 million.

The Super Tuesday primaries failed to produce a clear winner for the Democrats which means that both candidates will have to raise more funds to keep their campaigns going.

Hillary Clinton has around 900 delegates and Barack Obama 850. Both tallies are far short of the more than 2000 needed to win the nomination.
