New Anti-Terror Strategy Presented in Sweden

The government presented a new national strategy against terrorism in parliament today.

In an article for the Dagens Nyheter newspaper, Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt wrote that a modern , updated protection plan was needed to meet the ever changing terror threat. Even though Sweden hasn’t been a target like Madrid or London, the Minister said that the country must be fully prepared in the event of a catastrophe.

He added even though the terrorism threat was low , it would be naive to think that it couldn’t happen here. The Minister is in Germany over the weekend to take part in the annual Munich Conference on Security Policy.
