Budweiser Shootout promises more drama

Budweiser Shootout car race may have more drama with Stewart and Busch continuing rivalry.

Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch are keeping their tradition alive, with the drivers already engaging in on-track contact Friday during the second practice for Saturday night's Budweiser Shootout. Both drivers spent time on NASCAR probation last year, and there's gossip Stewart, after being insulted, took a swing at his rival.

That's just gossip, though, because no one will confirm it. Fox News reports NASCAR spokesman Jim Hunter delivered a stern warning, telling them, "You two guys better give each other plenty of space." The season opener promises plenty of fireworks on the track--Stewart and Busch's most recent flare-up followed an 8-car accident shortly after the season practice opened (see video below). The shootout is a non-points race, and this year 23 drivers will compete. Next weekend is the big one--the 50th running of the Daytona 500.

All Floridians know the consequence of Budweiser Shootout Care Race I-95 will be a secondary speedway. If you're coming for the race, and you don't know how to find U.S. Highway 1, it'd be a good idea to familiarize yourself with that alternate route.
